Helping children is our life commitment

Rosa Thay Nguyen Children’s Foundation (RTNCF) was established after Rosa’s life was cut short.  She envisioned a world, where underprivileged children would have access to basic medical care and nutrition.  Rosa spent many years helping children in an informal way.  In March 2017, her children established a non-profit charitable foundation in her name to formally continue her vision and work.

  • The Woman Behind the Vision – Rosa was born in Nam Dinh, Vietnam, in 1952.  She was put to work and married at a very young age and subsequently had four children.  While raising her children in rural Vietnam during the Vietnam War, she witnessed many children suffered from the war because the lack of medical care or medicines.  Some even died of preventable diseases.  Consequently, many mothers lost their children.  She felt the deepest compassion for these mothers but was helpless at the time.

  • A Journey Home – After decades of being in the U.S., she returned and visited her home country.  Although time has changed, she continued to see many areas that needed assistance.  She felt compel to start something in order to provide assistance to the children in need, especially the orphanages.  However, Rosa did not get very far with her ambition.  She passed away unexpectedly before her plans came to fruition.

  • Inspirational Vision – Rosa’s vision inspired her families and colleagues to establish RTNCF because her message is clear and relevant.  That is, children should have a chance for a healthy life and hope for a better future.

  • Medical Missions – Depending on the need of each area, RTNCF teams conduct medical missions both in the U.S. and abroad.  The RTNCF teams work and collaborate with healthcare providers for each designated location to deliver care and medical supplies to children in need of medical assistance and intervention.

  • Medical Partners – For medical mission abroad, our teams and strategic partners travel to work alongside with our abroad medical partners and hospitals to deliver either basic medical care and/or surgeries to help children.

  • Training and Education – We partner and train medical professionals abroad to conduct follow-up work in our absence.  The teams abroad will work with us to provide preparation and crucial follow-up care and other services to ensure a smooth and successful accomplishment of our goals.
