Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity and is intended to promote goodness or improve human quality of life. In return, this activity can produce a feeling of self-worth and respect. There is no financial gain involved for the individual. Volunteering is also renowned for skill development, socialization, fun, and team building to make the world a better place. Volunteering may have positive benefits for the volunteers as well as for the person, people, or community served.
People volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some, it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others, it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. For whatever reason people choose to volunteer, there is one thing in common, we do it to help others. Volunteering is helping, assisting, and/or serving others without any expectations or compensation in return. Many volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work such as medicine, education, or emergency rescue. Whatever the reason or motivation for volunteering, we encourage everyone to work together to achieve one common goal. Let’s continue to work together to make the world a better place for children because they deserve a chance for a healthy start and a good future.
